External metallic circle in hepaticojejunostomy

BACKGROUND: Biliary-enteric anastomosis especially Roux-en Y hepaticojejunostomy is frequently used for biliary diversion in benign biliary strictures. In this study, we present the results of hepaticojejunostomy with external metallic circle. METHODS: Hepaticojejunostomy with external metallic circle were performed in eight male Sprague-Dawley rats. At the end of the third month, anastomoses were analysed for patency and stability of external circles. RESULTS: Relaparotomy revealed that all the anastomoses were patent and circles were in original places. CONCLUSION: To provide the patency of narrow hepaticojejunostomy anastomoses, external metallic circle can be a good alternative to use of internal stents in suitable cases

An observational, multicenter, registry-based cohort study of Turkish Neonatal Society in neonates with Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy

BACKGROUND: Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a significant cause of mortality and short- and long-term morbidities. Therapeutic hypothermia (TH) has been shown to be the standard care for HIE of infants ≥36 weeks gestational age (GA), as it has been demonstrated to reduce the rates of mortality, and adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes. This study aims to determine the incidence of HIE in our country, to assess the TH management in infants with HIE, and present short-term outcomes of these infants. METHODS: The Turkish Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy Online Registry database was established for this multicenter, prospective, observational, nationally-based cohort study to evaluate the data of infants born at ≥34 weeks GA who displayed evidence of neonatal encephalopathy (NE) between March, 2020 and April 2022. RESULTS: The incidence of HIE among infants born at ≥36 weeks GA (n = 965) was 2.13 per 1000 live births (517:242440), and accounting for 1.55% (965:62062) of all neonatal intensive care unit admissions. The rates of mild, moderate and severe HİE were 25.5% (n = 246), 58.9% (n = 568), and 15.6% (n = 151), respectively. Infants with severe HIE had higher rates of abnormal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings, and mortality (p0.05). TH was administered to 85 (34.5%) infants with mild HIE, and of those born of 34-35 weeks of GA, 67.4% (n = 31) received TH. A total of 58 (6%) deaths were reported with a higher mortality rate in infants born at 34-35 weeks of GA (OR 3.941, 95% Cl 1.446-10.7422, p = 0.007). How Do Extra-Role Behaviors Affect Salespeople Performance? An Empirical Examination

Customer orientation and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) are two forms of extra-role behaviors which are expected to affect organizational performance positively in the academic literature. The goal of this study is to examine the relationship between customer orientation of salespeople working in pharmaceutical industry and superstore retailing sectors as well as their OCBs and the impact of these constructs on salespeople performance. The research uses the scales developed by Stock and Hoyer (2004), MacKenzie et al (1993) and Roman and Munuera (2000) to measure customer orientation, OCBs and performance respectively. Design of double-egg curve in the link roads of transportation networks

Skretanja s glavnih cesta do naselja postižu se prilaznim putevima. Zbog sigurnosti ovih skretanja, zakretni polumjeri trebaju biti veliki. Međutim, nije uvijek moguće napraviti ova skretanja kružnim lukovima velikog polumjera, budući da različiti čimbenici, kao što su topografija, položaj naselja, problemi koje je nemoguće prevladati te ekonomski uvjeti, ne dopuštaju izradu takve trase. Umjesto toga je, zbog prometa, poželjna linearna varijacija zakrivljenosti linije ili održavanje konstantne vrijednosti zakrivljenosti linije. Takva je klotoidna krivina jajeta. U mnogim se aplikacijama primjenjuje jednostruki ili dvostruki tip takvih klotoidnih zavoja. U ovom se radu proračun i projektiranje dvostruko kružnih zavoja detaljno objašnjavaju jednadžbama i slikama. Primjer projekta dvostruko kružnog zavoja primijenjen u skretanjima s glavne ceste u prometnim mrežama daje se zbog boljeg razumijevanja samog predmeta. U tabeli su prikazane glavne točke geometrije rotacije s koordinatama pomoćnih točaka. Nadamo se da će osnovna svrha ove analize, teorija i detaljni proračuni dvostruko kružnog zavoja i njihova primjena kojom se omogućuje sigurnija i udobnija vožnja, biti od koristi praktičarima.The turns from highways to settlement areas are achieved by link roads. For the safety of these turns, turning radii are required to be large. However, it is not always possible to achieve these turnings by means of arcs of circle with large radius, as different factors, such as topography, the state of settlement, problems impossible to overcome and economic conditions, do not allow designing such a route. Instead, for the sake of traffic, linear variation of the line curvature or maintaining the line curvature at constant value is highly desirable. One of the line geometries is the clothoid egg curve. Single and double type clothoid egg curves are used in many applications. In this study, the calculation and design of double-egg curve are explained by equations and figures in detail. For the design of two egg curves used in rotation from main road to connecting road in transportation networks as application, an example is provided for a better understanding of the subject. The main points of rotation geometry with the coordinates of auxiliary points and other intermediate results are given in a table. The main purpose of this study, the theory and calculations of two egg curves will provide basis to practitioners on a sample in a detailed way. By the fulfilment of design and its calculation of this rotation geometry which provides safer and more comfortable driving, it is hoped to be useful for practitioners

The development of construction industry sector in Turkey-construction industry indicators

İnşaat sektörü, yarattığı katma değer ve istihdam açısından ülke ekonomilerinin en dinamik sektörüdür. Büyük ölçüde yerli sermayeye dayanan inşaat sektörü yüzlerce meslek dalını ilgilendirmekte olup istihdam ve üretim sürecini olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Ülkemiz inşaat sektörünün dönemler ve yıllar içerisindeki gelişimini incelemek amacıyla çeşitli endeksler mevcuttur. Bu endeksler, İnşaat Ciro Endeksi, İnşaat Üretim Endeksi, İnşaat İşgücü Girdi Endeksleri ve İnşaat Malzemeleri Sanayi Bileşik Endeksi şeklinde sıralanabilir. Bu çalışmada, bahsedilen endekslerin yıllar içerisindeki değişimi incelenerek ülkemiz inşaat sektörünün genel durumu değerlendirilmiştir. Yürütülen çalışma neticesinde, ülkemiz inşaat sektörünün hem üretim hacmi hem de ciro bakımından her yıl büyümesine rağmen sektöre olan güven ve beklentinin oldukça düşük seviyede olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.The construction sector is the most dynamic sector of the country's economy in terms of value added and employment created. Construction sector which is based on domestic capital to a large extent concerns hundreds of professions. Also, construction sector affects employment and production process positively. There are various indices to examine the developments of our country's construction industry over the years. These indices are Construction Turnover Index, Construction Production Index, Construction Labor Force Input Indices and Compound Index of Construction Material Industry. In this study, the general status of our country's construction sector was evaluated by examining the changes in these indices over the years. As a result of this study, it was concluded that the construction sector of our country grew year by year both in terms of production volume and turnover, whereas the confidence and expectation were found to be at very low level in the construction sector

Grafen takviyeli alüminyum esaslı kompozitlerin üretimi ve karakterizasyonu

Alüminyum esaslı metal matrisli kompozitler (AL-MMK); kompozit yapıda yüksek mukavemet, iyileştirilmiş rijitlik, daha düşük yoğunluk, iyileştirilmiş ısıl ve elektriksel özellikler elde etmek amacıyla kullanılmaktadır. AL-MMK’larda SiC, Al2O3, WC, TiC’ün yanında son yıllarda grafen nano tabaka da takviye elemanı olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, toz metalürjisi metoduyla saf alüminyum ve ağırlıkça %0.1, %0.3, %0.5 oranında grafen takviyeli alüminyum esaslı kompozitler üretilmiştir. Üretilen kompozitlerin kristal yapı analizi için X-ışını kırınım cihazı (XRD), yüzey ve içyapı karakterizasyonu içinse taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmayla, grafen takviyeli alüminyum esaslı kompozitlerde, grafen katkı oranı, sinterleme süresi ve sinterleme sıcaklığının kompozitlerin yoğunluğuna ve mikro Vickers sertliğine olan etkisi incelenmiştir. En iyi mikro Vickers sertlik değerine ağırlıkça %0.1 grafen takviyesinde, 180 dk sinterleme süresinde ve 630 °C’lik sinterleme sıcaklığında ulaşılmıştır
